Puppy Preschool

Our Puppy Preschool program is designed to give your young (8 to16 week old) dog the solid foundations in socialization and good-manners skills which will serve them for the rest of their lives. Learning these skills at this stage of their lives is critical since their primary socialization window only is open at this time.

We realize that learning these skills in a safe, controlled environment is vital to protect both their physical health at present and their mental health for the future. This is why we require that all puppies have received at least their first set of Distemper & Parvo vaccinations. All puppies should also have received a Bordatella vaccine to protect them against kennel cough to participate in class.

As an added precaution, all puppies are carried to and from the classroom to prevent transmission of diseases from outdoors. The training takes place in a veterinary rehab hospital which is thoroughly cleaned prior to class and whose clients are also vaccinated for Distemper and Parvo.

If your veterinarian expresses any concerns about your puppy attending class, please invite them to read this letter written by a prominant Veterinary Behaviorist and Preventative Medicine specialist, Dr. R.K. Anderson, concerning balancing the concerns of health risk versus early socialization clases for puppies.
