Therapy Dog Classes (October 9, 2008)
In early October, we will begin to offer Therapy Dog classes. This fun and challenging class will help prepare your dog for the Delta Society Pet Partners® evaluation and help you learn more about therapy work. Collaborating with the DoveLewis Animal Assisted Therapy & Education (DLAATE) program, we will work with therapy dog teams to help prepare them for volunteering in Animal Assisted Therapy and Animal Assisted Activities. Therapy Dog classes will take place in a number of different facilities, with a diverse variety of simulated therapy work situations. Please contact us if you are interested in joining the class.
Behavior and Training Q&A: Tré Bone (August 1, 2008)
Our head trainer Scott Raymond held a behavioral talk at Tré Bone, a speciality pet store in the St. John's area of Portland. Topics of discussion were: how to stop unwanted behaviors using positive training, how to build a strong recall (coming when called), and how to reduce barking.
Helping Project Pooch (April 20, 2008)
Scott joins Project Pooch as the head trainer to help them develop their program and find ways to improve their training techniques to better find homes for the shelter dogs brought into the program. For more information about Project Pooch, or to adopt a dog from this very worthwhile program, visit their website.Contact Us
