About Us

Scott Raymond, MS, CPDT

Scott and Sita

Scott has been helping dogs and their families with training classes and private consults for over seven years.  He has attended numerous seminars and conferences on dog behavior and training issues and has achieved the status of Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT).  He has titled dogs in tracking and competition obedience and is a Canine Good Citizen evaluator.

When he is not working with people's personal pets, Scott works as the Head Instructor for Project Pooch in Woodburn, Oregon. Through this program, he helps correctional facility youths train shelter dogs to improve adoptability.

Scott and Sita (photo at right) are also a registered therapy dog team, and are participating in the Dove Lewis Read to the Dogs program to help children become more confident readers. Together with his four fur-kids (Sita, Roo, Misha and Jazz) Scott helps people find solutions to dog training challenges.

Amber Mahoney, Assistant Trainer

Amber and Chloe

Amber's formal dog training education began with assisting in classes teaching people with disabilities to train their own dogs as service dogs.  Her oldest dog, Chloe (photo at right) is a retired service and therapy dog.  Together they are currently training to earn their Companion Dog title in competition obedience.

Amber is also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She has attended the 2007 APDT conference in Portland as well as a number of workshops on dog training topics. She is also a professional dog walker with Town & Country Pet Sitting. She is educating herself and acquiring training experience with a goal of eventually becoming a Certified Pet Dog Trainer.

We are pleased that Amber is interning at Synergy Dog Training and we look forward to her joining our team of trainers in the near future.
